NBX non-bridging fracture fixation is based on the concept of using a matrix of multi-planar and multi-directional k-wires to capture and hold the intra or extra-articular fragments in place. The resulting multi-matrix® of k-wires is held in place by an external frame and secures the reduced fracture fragments while allowing passive and/or active motion at the joint while the fracture heals.
All k-wires are placed through and held in place by an external locking plate or frame in a minimally invasive percutaneous technique.
NON-BRIDGING FIXATION
All NBX FIXATORS do not cross the affected joint, effectively controlling all fracture fragments while allowing to the patient to begin range of motion immediately after surgery thereby ensuring an early return to normal function.
MULTI-MATRIX™ PIN TECHNOLOGY
A matrix of Multi-Planar and Multi-Directional pins to hold the fracture fragments in the correct anatomic orientation secured solidly to the frame while allowing the patient to move the effected portion of the anatomy throughout the healing process.
LIGHTWEIGHT RADIOLUCENT MATERIAL
All NBX Fixators are made from medical grade Polycarbonate, thus assuring complete radiolucency while providing extremely rigid fixation.
PROPRIETARY LOCKING MECHANISM
Patented methods using both an impinging plate design and collapsing collet along with split locking ball deformation to lock and hold various diameter pins attached to fracture fragment s and a rigid frame.
